The country's largest multi-sport event for athletes of all ages and skill levels expects 10,000 athletes in Colorado Springs this summer.
Athletes From 15 States Already Set For 2009 State Games of America in Colorado Springs from July 30-Aug. 2
The nation’s largest multi-sport event for amateur athletes of all ages and skill levels this summer already has a head start on its goal of 10,000 competitors.
Athletes from 15 states have registered to compete in the 2009 State Games of America, July 30-August 2 in Colorado Springs, the home of the U.S. Olympic Committee.
The State Games of America, an event of the National Congress of State Games, offers competition in 31 sports at 22 venues across the city of Colorado Springs. Medal winners in their respective State Games, as well as all residents of Colorado, are eligible to compete.
Athlete registration is open now by going to: www.stategames.org and clicking on the State Games of America logo.
Complete information on sports offered, accommodations and area attractions is available at the site.
To date, athletes have registered from Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
