Turner Joins Sportaccord Speaker Line-up

LAUSANNE, Switzerland – Legendary media business pioneer Ted Turner has joined the truly outstanding list of speakers confirmed for Sportaccord 2009 from March 23-27 in Denver, Colorado. Along with the CNN founder, the stellar speaker line-up will also feature NBC Universal Sports & Olympics Chairman Dick Ebersol and more high-profile speakers are being confirmed.

With Sportaccord taking place in North America for the first time, a highlight of the conference programme will be an unprecedented summit session featuring the heads of North American professional leagues and their counterparts from the international federations, moderated by former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue. NBA Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver and a senior executive from the NHL will engage Patrick Baumann (International Basketball Federation) and René Fasel (International Ice Hockey Federation) in a discussion on competition and collaboration between American leagues and world governing bodies.

The seventh edition of the convention will take place at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Centre.  With expected attendance of 1500 delegates from 500 organisations around the world, Sportaccord in Denver will again enable the sports community opportunity to come together on a global scale, in an exclusive and unique environment, to build relationships, exchange knowledge and develop ideas.
