Parsons BOA Director of Comms & Public Affairs

He will start in the New Year.

The British Olympic Association (BOA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Adam Parsons as its Director of Communications and Public Affairs. He will start in the role in the New Year.

Adam joins the BOA from the BBC, where he has spent seven years as Sports Correspondent and Presenter for BBC News. During that time, he has fronted the BBC News television coverage of the Olympic Games in Athens and Beijing, as well as reporting widely on London\‘s 2012 campaign.

He has reported on the leading events in world sport, including the football World Cup, the Rugby World Cup, the Formula One World Championship, Wimbledon tennis, Ashes cricket and Ryder Cup golf.  Adam is also a familiar face as a presenter on the BBC\‘s News Channel.
 
Prior to joining the BBC, Adam was Sports Editor of Sunday Business newspaper, and before that Motor Racing Correspondent of The Sunday Times. He is the latest of three recruits to join the BOA, following Chief Executive Andy Hunt and Chief Commercial Officer Hugh Chambers. Adam will report to the BOA’s Chief Commercial Officer.

Adam Parsons commented:

Adam Parson is 38, married with three children. He grew up in Hertfordshire and was educated at Haberdasher\‘s Aske\‘s School in Elstree. He did a degree in Modern History at St Anne\‘s College, Oxford, and started his journalism career at the Watford Observer. He has written two books, both about motor racing.
