FIFA Confederations Cup South Africa 2009

Official draw: results available now on FIFA.com

The official draw for the FIFA Confederations Cup South Africa 2009 was held today (Saturday, 22 November 2008) at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg/South Africa. FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke conducted the draw in the presence of the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the FIFA Confederations Cup Issa Hayatou. During the 50-minute live TV show the eight Miss World candidates from the respective participating countries and continents lent the draw master a helping hand to determine the two groups for the eight-team competition. The “Festival of the continental Champions” will take place from 14 to 28 June 2009 and features Brazil, Egypt, Iraq, Italy, New Zealand, Spain, South Africa and the USA.
