ANOTHER MULTI-SPORT GAME NEXT WEEK

 

One week from tomorrow the Opening Ceremonies will take place for the XIII South Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa.  Participants from 22 Pacific Island countries will compete in 33 sports, including softball (both men?s and women?s), which will take place from August 27-September 1 at the Samoa Turf Club, Faleata.  The new softball grounds that will be used for the competition just opened on June 30.  Softball first became a part of the South Pacific Games programme over 30 years ago.  The sport is currently in at least 15 different multi-sport games.  The website of the 2007 South Pacific Games is www.samoa2007.ws.
