Drew Christensen of New Westminster BC was near is own Canadian and Pan American record in the men?s S8 50m freestyle in preliminary heats this morning. Drew clocked 30.51 to qualify first for the final.
Anne Polinario of Montreal had a solid preliminary swim in the women?s S10 50m freestyle clocking
28.98 to qualify in first while teammate Jessica Hodgins qualified in third clocking 32.86.
In the women?s S9 50m freestyle, Canada has another opportunity to have three swimmers on the podium. London?s Darda Geiger qualified first in 32.47, Stephanie Dixon of Victoria second in 33.04 and Katarina Roxon of Stephenville Nfl in third clocking 34.35.
Finals begin at 5:00pm at the Maria Lenk Aquatic Centre in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
