(SFC)  SPORTEL Monaco launches its annual sports media market with a full schedule and a booked out exhibition hall at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte-Carlo.

HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, longtime patron of the event, commented, "SPORTEL is established as the leading convention for the sports marketing and media industry, attracting year after year all the key the players in the fields of these activities. Another record participation is expected for this 2017 edition.

"Our way to consume sport has evolved over the years with the development of digital platforms and the evolution of new technologies. The sports rights marketing sector has been impacted offering an increasing number of opportunities but in parallel the business models have evolved to adapt to these changes.

"The SPORTEL events represent a valuable platform and experience not only to negotiate deals but also to learn more on the upcoming trends.

"Over the past year numerous events have taken place such as the Rio Summer Olympics or the Athletics World Championships. The Golden Podium Awards ceremony will showcase the remarkable athletes' performances with emotional and spectacular images.

"I would like to wish all the participants a successful SPORTEL and an enjoyable stay in the Principality of Monaco," he concluded.

This 2017 year promises to be a benchmark year after the 20th edition of the SPORTEL America taking place in Miami, Florida in March, the annual market and symposium in Monaco and the launch of the new SPORTEL Summit next year in Miami as well.

General Manager Amparo Di Fede explained that the exhibition hall has taken on a new floor design to house more exhibitor stands and more lounge areas for networking. She also noted, "I wish to point out that as of this year we have also changed the conference format. It was noticeable that participants had difficulties attending our interesting panels in the past, simply because of their busy schedules. Therefore we have reduced the panel durations to 20 minutes to make it easier and quicker for participants to attend.

"All participants should attend the annual SPORTEL Awards Ceremony on the evening of Tuesday 24th. The ceremony awards the best achievements of sports in media and is always a great spectacle."

The event has long been the go to appointment for selling and buying sports media. SPORTEL CEO Laurent Pons added, "Together Sport and television form a very special partnership. With this union boasting limitless potential, rest assured that SPORTEL's best days are yet to come."

SPORTEL will be taking place over October 24-26 and promises to be another successful edition showcasing its capabilities for bringing the sports world and the media industry together.
