(SFC) The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Bid Committee was in Aarhus, Denmark this past week to attend the SportAccord Convention 2017. They departed the Convention leaving behind a promise that Paris 2024 would stage the spectacular Games in history.

Paris Mayor, Anne Hidalgo stated, "Being here at SportAccord has been a special experience for me. I met many inspiring people who are on this journey towards 2024 with Paris. Our City stand in the convention has been a hub of activity, and we have welcomed everyone to come and sample the very best of our city.  One in five Parisians was born outside France and this means we are a city that looks outwards and it is this mindset of openness that will be a defining characteristic of a Paris 2024 Games."

Paris 2024 Co-Chair and three-time Olympic champion, Tony Estanguet; Paris 2024 CEO, Etienne Thobois; and Mayor Hidalgo shared a presentation at the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) General Assembly. The presentation declared Paris 2024 as 'the right city, with the right vision at the right moment.'

"Our promise to the IFs and the wider Olympic Family is that we will host the most spectacular Games ever and to do that you have to be open to learning from everyone involved. That is why SportAccord 2017 has been a special event. We are grateful for the opportunity to come and talk with the International Federations who will help us to deliver Games that are truly defining in the modern era. Paris 2024 is the right city, with the right vision, at the right time, and we are looking forward to taking this message with us all the way to the final decision in September," expressed Estanguet.

They went on to show the city's iconic landmarks, which included the Grand Palais, Chateau de Versailles, Champs-Elysees, and Eiffel Tower offering magnificent backdrops throughout the duration of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Paris 2024 went on to showcase a Games that will be led by athletes and driven by innovative technology and sustainability.

They also promised to deliver a low-risk Games as 95% of venues are already in place or will be temporary. These Games will be tailored to the athletes using an ultra-compact plan to make sure that 85% of venues are within 30 minutes of the Olympic Village.

The presentation highlighted how they will connect with the youth of France and offer a lasting social and sporting legacy for the entire region. In addition to the presentation, Paris 2024 held invaluable discussions on the bid's Games vision of purpose and passion.

Thobois commented, "Paris 2024 promises to be a unique celebration of sport that will leave a lasting social legacy for the people of Paris and France..."

Paris hopes to win against the city of Los Angeles in gaining the right to host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
