(SFC) The SPORTELAmerica media market and symposium celebrated its 20th anniversary meeting in Miami noting a 20% increase in new companies gathering sports broadcast executives and rights sellers from over 47 countries.

The SPORTELAmerica appointment started in Miami back in 1997 and has kept its place in the annual calendar as the venue to be for rights sellers and buyers for sports media of all platforms.

Final figures show there were over 636 overall attendees of 331 companies representing the international sports marketing sector and the media industry.

This year the new launch of the SPORTEL SUMMIT was announced to be held here again in Miami next year in May that will function as an elite think tank for the future of brand communications and sports broadcasting.

SPORTEL CEO Laurent Puons commented on the event, "The industry needs a new platform for communication and exchange on an extremely high level."

The annual sports marketing event has done a remarkable job of staying relevant in an ever changing landscape with new media platforms emerging all the time.

The new SUMMIT is designed to bring together elite level decision makers from numerous areas of the sports broadcasting and social media industry to discuss current issues and gain more understanding of better practices for going forward. The agenda will allow for the sessions to be held behind closed doors so that people can share their concerns and advice in order to build their business and raise the level of collaboration between sports and media.

Next up on the calendar will be the annual meeting in Monte-Carlo of SPORTELMonaco from October 23 to 26, 2017.
