(SFC) As widely expected IOC Evaluation chairman Frank Fredericks recommended to the Executive Board meeting in Lausanne to elevate all three bid cities Budapest, Los Angeles and Paris to the next stage of bidding.

Stage 2 covered governance, legal and venue funding and consequently as no issues were raised all three will move on to Stage 3 Games which deals with delivery, experience and venue legacy and the deadline to submit their files is 3 February 2017.

The IOC also confirmed that the onsite visits will take place in April/May and following that a final report will be published and made available to the public and all IOC Members. This report also is released prior to the "Candidate City 2024 Briefing for IOC Members and Summer Olympic International Federations" set to take place in July 2017.

The IOC bid process comprises the three investigative stages preparing the cities for the final election of the 2024 summer Games host city that will take place in Lima, Peru, in September 2017.
