(SFC) The Los Angeles (LA) 2024 Olympic Bid Committee has joined up with the online movie-making duo, VagaBrothers, to create a series of short films that document how the 2016 Summer Olympic Games have brought Rio de Janeiro to life as the world gathers to celebrate sport. Viewers in LA and beyond will become connected to the unique atmosphere of Rio and the Olympic Games through the VagaBrothers' mini-series.

"One of LA 2024's core objectives is to inspire new levels of passion for the Olympic Games among America's 100 million young people. Our bid to bring the summer Games back to the US for the first time in over a quarter of a century is a wonderful opportunity to do that, and we are proud to be playing our part in connecting the next generation to the Olympic Movement," expressed LA 2024 Chairman, Casey Wasserman.

The two California film-makers have been documenting their journeys across the globe and uploading their films onto their YouTube Channel, which contains "entertaining content that promotes cultural understanding and global awareness through the joy of travel." The VagaBrothers' channel has over 120,000 subscribers and their videos have been viewed approximately eight million times.

During the 2016 Olympics, the VagaBrothers have been gathering various perspectives in Rio by visiting cultural hotspots and meeting locals. Their first two videos in Rio took viewers to the Favela do Santa Marta and Copacabana Beach. The videos showed the buzz surrounding the city as the Opening Ceremony took place and they have around 45,000 views already. Their next video is set to be released on Tuesday (August 16, 2016). Their channel can be found at

Wasserman added, "The LA 2024 bid seeks to engage with youth through the platforms, channels, and technologies they are using. LA speaks to the world's youth every day and we are excited about the prospect of putting our ready-made connection to global youth culture, along with California's leadership in technology and innovation, at the service of the Olympic Movement."

These films will build up the excitement for the United States as they have a chance to stage the Summer Olympics for the first time in 28 years.
