(SFC) LA 2024 has unveiled an emoji keyboard app as they work to build a new era for the Olympic Games and attract fans to the Olympic Movement a different way. This is the first time an Olympic Candidature Committee has created such an app.

The free "LA 2024 Emojis" is available to the public to download right now, so users can use them during the Rio 2016 Opening Ceremony and throughout the Games. Conversation and engagement surrounding the world's major celebration of sport will be stimulated through the use of this app.

Leading mobile sports experiences, YinzCam developed the app for LA 2024 and features Olympic and LA inspired emoji icons. The app features an American flag waving on the beach; stylized versions of LA venues and iconic landmarks; cheering fans, stars and stripes flip-flops; a traditional Brazilian samba dancer; and emojis designed to express support and excitement for Rio 2016.

"As LA 2024 harnesses California's technology to serve the Olympic Movement, we are thrilled to introduce the LA 2024 Emojis app and give the next generation a new and dynamic way of engaging with the passion and excitement of the Games. The City of Angels is known around the world as a hub of innovation and creativity, and the LA 2024 Emojis App is a glimpse of how a Los Angeles Games in 2024 could promote the Games and leverage the city's creative talent to connect and inspire the world," expressed LA 2024 Chairman, Casey Wasserman.

LA 2024 Vice Chair and Director of Athlete Relations, Janet Evans stated, "LA speaks to the world's youth every day. LA 2024 is eager to put LA's ready-made connection with youth culture at the service of the Olympic Movement and inspire a whole new generation around the Olympic values of friendship, respect, and excellence. In the meantime, we are thrilled to be able to offer the LA 2024 Emojis app as yet another way for athletes, fans and all other stakeholders of the Olympic Movement to express their excitement and support for the Rio 2016 Games."

"It is a privilege for us to be a part of providing a unique new way for fans to express their excitement for Rio 2016 and to show their support for bringing the Games to LA in 2024. We cannot wait to see fans use these emojis," commented YinzCam CEO and Founder, Priya Narasimhan.

Angelenos and other LA 2024 supports can show their support in digital form now, just in time for the Rio 2016 Olympics Games. The LA 2024 Emoji app can be downloaded on Android and iOS. Search "LA 2024 Emojis" in the app store to download.
