Olympics: Paris 2024 brings on Air France as an Official Supplier

(SFC) Paris 2024 has added international airline, Air France as an official supplier of the bid. The airliner's entire fleet services 320 destinations in 114 countries, linking Europe and the rest of the world. They carried around 89.6 million passengers in 2015.

"Millions of international tourists visit Paris each year and we are very proud of our status as a global travel destination that has great cultural, artistic, and sporting appeal. Air France is also a global company that conveys the image of France with its international outlook, aspirational values and first-class expertise in business. We are delighted to have the backing of such a prestigious company and I would like to thank Air France for their dedicated support," expressed Paris 2024 Co-Chairman, Bernard Lapasset.

Air France will support the Paris 2024 bid by displaying the bid logo on a selection of Air France planes. The logo will appear on about 10,000 flights throughout the bid campaign. These various flights will display the logo:

·         Medium-haul A320 Airbus flights to Africa, Middle East, and Europe.

·         Long-haul Boeing 777 and A380 Airbus flights to Africa, Oceania, Asia, and the Americas.

CEO of Air France, Frederic Gagey stated, "Air France is proud to offer its support to the Paris 2024 bid and it is an honor to be the official airline carrier of the bid and Team France. As an international leader in the airline industry, we feel the principles of the Paris 2024 bid mirror our own aspirational values and we are looking forward to promoting the bid through our international network and global hubs."

In addition to displaying the logos, Air France will run marketing campaigns that endorse the culture and values of French sport. They will also promote the bid in airport lounges worldwide and in-flight magazines.  

Lapasset concluded, "As our bid continues to gather momentum we continue to draw inspiration from the support we are receiving from the French public and businesses across the country. Our aim is to harness the enthusiasm and passion to see the Games come to Paris and ensure we deliver a spectacular festival of sport and Olympism for the whole country."
