(SFC) The PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) invites sports fans from all over the globe to take part in an idea contest "OPEN! Mission Relay." The contest will allow participants to take an active role in the PyeongChang Olympic and Paralympic Games Torch Relays.

POCOG aims to bring together unique ideas that are based on personal stories to feed into the torch relays through this global idea contest. Ideas will be received into four categories including creative contents that promote the relay (images, music, videos, photos, and more), mode of transportation, torchbearers, and potential relay routes. Ideas can be submitted by anyone from June 19-August 12.

"PyeongChang's OPEN! Mission Relay is a fresh approach to the iconic Torch Relay, and PyeongChang 2018 aims to engage the passion of winter sports fans around the world in completing our project. I look forward to being pleasantly surprised by bright and creative ideas that will make the 2018 Torch Relay even more special," expressed POCOG President Lee Hee-beom.

The PyeongChang 2018 Torch Relay program will include selected ideas. Winners will have the chance to experience a life-lasting memory. One winner from the student group and one from the general public will be able to attend the Flame Lighting Ceremony in Greece along with the PyeongChang 2018 delegation. Second place winners will be given the honor of torchbearer.
