(SFC) A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG). Seoul is the largest metropolis of South Korean and the capital city. It has experience with hosting Olympic Games as it was the host city for the 1988 Summer Olympic Games.

"Close cooperation and collaboration with the capital city of Seoul during the remaining months will be vital for the successful preparation of the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.  I look forward to the support and participation of the ten million Seoulites since the many spectators and team officials visiting PyeongChang will also be interested in the fun features that Seoul has to offer," expressed POCOG President, Lee Hee-beom.

Seoul will aid in promoting the PyeongChang 2018 Games through the use of city-owned communication tools including newsletters, its official website, leaflets, outdoor large-screen displays, and billboards. Also, under the new agreement, they will provide resources and workforce support for the torch relay, cultural events, and Games operations.

Mayor of Seoul, Park Won-soon stated, "PyeongChang 2018 will be the second edition of the Olympic Games held in Korea, 30 years after the Seoul 1988 Summer Games.  I hope it will be an opportunity for all of us to feel the passion again.  The Metropolitan Government of Seoul will act as a sincere and strong partner for the success of the 2018 Winter Games."
