(SFC) Once again, SportAccord Convention will play host to this year's LawAccord Conference with the support of Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The conference program will focus on the future of sport and the law, along with looking at some of the disputes that have occurred in sport over the last year with a dispassionate view.

"We're delighted to be hosting LawAccord 2016 with the support of the Court of Arbitration for Sport as well as being able to extend a warm welcome to the recently appointed Director General of WADA, Oliver Niggli, who will take up his post officially in the near future. This year, LawAccord will focus on the needs of lawyers, sports administrators and International Federation officials, providing insights from a range of experts across the field, on the latest developments and concepts, as well as disputes that continue to challenge the world of sport," expressed Stephen Townley, Conference Co-Chair and Head of the LawAccord Conference Program.

To kick things off, Olivier Niggli from WADA will give the initial keynote. Niggli will give an update on the WADA compliance program, the latest WADA investigations, and implementation of the 2015 Code.

After the keynote, delegates will hear the latest CAS news from Secretary General of CAS, Matthieu Reeb. A presentation of Olympic CAS case law will follow, along with an interactive discussion on how the CAS' Ad Hoc Division plans to tackle disputes that may arise at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

An interactive workshop 'What does sport look for and need from the legal industry?' will take place during the first-panel session. Delegates will have the opportunity for networking and discussion while also learning the 'inside track' on what multisport and International Federations (IFs) events are looking for.

In addition, session two will focus on how one can solve sport disputes through mediation and will examine the role of mediation in sport. The panel shall discuss when mediation should be used within and outside a federation and whether it works while also looking at how it can be incorporated into agreements.

This year's SportAccord Convention will take place at the SwissTech Convention Center in Lausanne, Switzerland. For more information or to register visit, www.sportaccordconvention.com.
