(SFC) During the SportAccord Council meeting at the Maison du Sport in Lausanne, feedback was reviewed by Members representing the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF), Association of International Olympic Winter Sports Federations (AIOWF), Alliance of Independent Recognized Members of Sport (AIMS), Association of International Olympic Committee (IOC) Recognized International Sports Federations (ARISF), and the Associate Members. The feedback was gathered from all SportAccord Members after the Extraordinary General Assembly.

The SportAccord Council then decided that SportAccord should continue as a stand-alone organization with an individual membership of the International Federations. Part of the unanimous decision was that Members agreed to revise various articles in the Statutes to ensure stable governance.

The future intention is still to merge the SportAccord Convention and SportAccord into one entity. However, the management and structure of SportAccord remain the primary focus for now.

"We appreciate the constructive input received from many Members who have underlined the important role of SportAccord for interaction between all International Federations to exchange best practices and learn from each other. We need to ensure this effective collaboration amongst the Federations continues, and the decision to keep two separate entities is the right solution for the time being," expressed Chairman of the SportAccord Council, Gian Franco Kasper.

SportAccord Convention President, Francesco Ricci Bitti stated, "SportAccord Convention is constituted by the Associations, and it is operating effectively and run by our professional team. We are very much looking forward to the 2016 edition in Lausanne, which is promising to be a highly successful Convention, hand in hand with the SportAccord Members."
