Olympics: Paris 2024 signs Française des Jeux Lottery deal kicking off new multi-million bid marketing strategy

(SFC) The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Bid today announced the signing of the Française des Jeux (FDJ) Lottery launching a multi-million corporate partner marketing program. Each partner will commit to approximately a €2 million ($2.1 million) investment entitling them to a headline association with the bid.

Paris is bidding against Budapest, Los Angeles and Rome and has targeted their bid budget at around $66 million with public authorities in France stepping up with about half of that.

The FDJ has supported the French Olympic Committee (CNOSF) for the past 15 years and is committed to contributing to the growth of national sport.

"Paris 2024 is delighted to launch its new sponsorship programme today and we are thrilled to have La Française des Jeux as our inaugural partner," said Etienne Thobois, Paris 2024 Chief Executive.

"The support of FDJ, who has a long tradition and history working with Olympic and Paralympic sports, will make a valuable contribution to our bid.

"I want to thank La Française des Jeux for their committed partnership and we now look forward to announcing further Paris 2024 sponsors who will each help to promote sport to the public in France and provide support for our campaign to become the 2024 Olympic Host City." 

FDJ CEO, Stéphane Pallez, said, "For many months now, FDJ has expressed its firm support for Paris to be selected to host the 2024 Games so it gives me great pleasure today to confirm our official sponsorship of the bid. 

"The Paris 2024 campaign will continue to highlight the great passion for sport in France and we are honoured to make this contribution to help the city in its Olympic journey. We wish the bid team every success to help bring the Olympic flame to Paris in 2024."

The new Euro sponsorship program is designed to help fund the French bid and enhance public engagement with the campaign in the city and across the nation.

Each Paris 2024 sponsor will have "ownership" of a particular theme and FDJ has chosen Women in Sport so they will be creating promotional campaigns linked to developing women's sport and celebrating female athletes.

There will also be a new Paris 2024 lottery scratch card that will be distributed by FDJ at the beginning of 2017 so public supporters can play to back the bid.

Paris 2024 in also now open to signing other sponsors that are interested in the special program to support their Olympic Dream.

the IOC will vote for their 2024 summer Olympic Games host city in 2017 at the session in Lima, Peru.
