(SFC) The 26th edition of the SPORTEL Monaco symposium and market kicked off this morning at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte-Carlo. SPORTEL is also recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and is held under the patronage of Prince Albert II of Monaco who also serves as the Honorary President.

Prince Albert noted in a statement, SPORTEL brings together the key figures from the world of

sport and the media industry, in a market that is constantly evolving both economically and technologically. This dynamism will reflect once again on this year's edition confirming its status as the leading forum where it is possible to evaluate the future of sports marketing.

"I am convinced that the industry professionals, participating in the International Symposium, will be eager to find out more about the new Olympic channel. I am also delighted that the International Olympic Committee has chosen Monaco to reveal the changes that this major new figure in the industry will bring with it.

"SPORTEL pursues its solidarity engagement alongside charity PLAY FOR CHANGE, which objective is to help impoverished children through Sport. With the introduction of a new and independent prize linked to this initiative within the Golden Podium Sportel awards, the organizers demonstrates the event's ability to combine business and social responsibility."

Last year for the 25th anniversary event there were over 2600 attendees coming from 78 countries representing over 960 companies worldwide.  SPORTEL continues to attentively follow the development of multi-platform media and this keeps the door wide open for growth.

SPORTEL General Manager, Amparo di Fede, said, "With all exhibition space booked out and more people than ever attending, I am proud to say that SPORTEL 2015 looks particularly promising.

"Statistics aside, I note that a number of participants are clearly eager to use our event to promote and communicate their expertise - Spain's LaLiga, the Fédération Équestre Internationale.

"Richness and diversity are also the watchwords underlining our programme of talks and presentations...

"The International Symposium will be a key event of the convention, with the International Olympic Committee having chosen SPORTEL to unveil the forthcoming Olympic channel at SPORTEL.

"Just like every year, expert discussion panels, assisted by the Sports Video Group, will explore the topic of technological development. Issues including piracy and anticipated changes to TV rights will also be addressed in association with TVSM, as will some of the new features that lie in store for the Rio Olympics, ten months before their Opening Ceremony.

"LETV is a new, modern and dynamic channel keen to highlight what the Chinese market has to offer - it will help our community to better understand the market in China.

"The Start-Up Competition that launched last year has proven even more successful in its continuing quest to champion young businesses that have made innovation their main means of development.

"A new event this year will see SPORTEL joining forces with the charity PLAY FOR CHANGE to co-host their very special charity evening at the Yacht Club of Monaco, the TV SPORTS AWARDS, which will recognise excellence in the sports industry. Lastly, the annual and prestigious SPORTEL AWARDS "Ceremony will again be held at the Grimaldi Forum on Tuesday 13th October, followed by a hotly anticipated After Party at Jimmy'z.

"Our strikingly dynamic programme is a reflection of your enthusiasm for our event. I would like to thank you for your support and involvement, the twin testaments of the success of our twenty-sixth edition.

David Jones, SPORTEL Sales and Marketing, talked about the way the event has evolved in an ever changing market, "Last year, SPORTELMonaco has completed its 25th anniversary, looking back on a quarter century of sports and media excellence. With great pride SPORTEL enters the next quarter century and focuses on the future of the sports marketing and media industry.

"2015 already kicked off as a major success with the return of SPORTELAmerica and since then registrations are skyrocketing for SPORTELMonaco. Never before were both exhibitions booked out as early as this year! Additional stands were added that also were booked in just a few days.

"We've noticed changes and future trends in the industry that the business is not about content deals anymore. Statements like "fan interaction" and "brand awareness" came up more often again and prove that marketing is influencing the objectives of content rights, as well as the right choice of technology to get the jobs done. It is up to SPORTEL to step up and offer the community new opportunities to do better business. We have adapted and brought in more marketing and tech solutions that enable the content professionals to grasp a wider variety of deals.

"Alongside these developments we have created panels that are directed to help and inspire you with new ideas, solutions and contacts that combine your marketing strategies, with content sales objectives and finally the tech solutions that extend the global brand/sport communication. Our "Business & Technology" panel: "Match Maker: The Right Tech for the Right Rights" addresses exactly these issues! The panel is on Tuesday 13th from 14.00 to 15.00 in the conference room.

"Further, SPORTEL wishes to thank all returning participants, new visitors and new exhibitors, such as the Spanish "LaLiga".

"LaLiga have shown great interest in an extensive presence in the Diaghilev exhibition hall and welcome you in the new "LaLiga Lounge".

"The continuous growth of SPORTEL clearly shows that our industry and community is strong and all our effort are welcomed by YOU.

"We appreciate you trust and loyalty and wish to a great and successful SPORTELMonaco 2015." is an official media partner of SPORTEL
