(SFC) The PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) is setting up a public Photo Zone during the Asia League Ice Hockey 2015-2016 competitions to promote the 2018 Games. POCOG will set up the Photo Zones at the different competition venues in the cities of Anyang, Goyang, and Incheon in South Korea.

The Asia League Ice Hockey was inaugurated on August 29th and the season is expected to last until April of 2016. The professional ice hockey league was formed in 2003 and is based in Northeast Asia. There are currently nine teams from China, Japan, Russia, and South Korea in the league. Ice hockey in the Asian regions is expected to see a significant boost as Northeast Asia will be hosting two consecutive Olympic Winter Games.

POCOG will use various promotional activities during the season to help familiarize the public of ice hockey. This will also give POCOG the chance to observe the operation of the competitions and the facilities, which will assist them in preparation for the 2018 Games.

POCOG Spokesperson, Sung Baik-you stated, "POCOG will endeavor to encourage participation of both the public and fans in ice hockey, the centerpiece of winter sports, and expand the enthusiasm to the Olympic Winter Games in 2018."

Also, with an automatic berth as the host country of the 2018 Games, Korea will make its debut in Olympic ice hockey competition during the 2018 Olympics.
