(SFC) In a few days, the sporting world will have their eyes on Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as the city plays host to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board Meeting (July 28-30) and the 128th IOC Session (July 31-August 3). Sports activists and enthusiasts from all over the globe will be looking at Kuala Lumpur.

Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) Honorary Secretary, Datuk Sieh Kok Chi told Bernama, "The Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) is proud to be chosen as host of the 128th IOC Session. Even though we could not afford to host the Olympic Games, hosting a prestigious meeting is also an honor to the country."

Kok Chi said that over 100 IOC Executive Board Members will be in attendance.

The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre will host the annual IOC meetings. The highlight of the meetings will be the IOC's announcement of the host cities chosen for the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games and the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

According to Bernama, Kok Chi stated, "Representatives of countries vying for both mega sporting events will also be here."

Lausanne, Switzerland and Brasov, Romania are bidding for the 2020 Youth Olympics, while the 2020 Games are down to Beijing, China and Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The cities will make one last presentation on July 31st to the IOC Session before they make their final decisions later that day.

Kok Chi told Bernama, "The announcement of the bidding results will be aired live throughout the world."

The 128th IOC Session will also consider the eight sports that will be added to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
