(SFC) The top world sports content, media convention, SPORTELAmerica to be held in this month in Miami, has announced a new partnership with Play for Change Charitable Trust (PFC).

To raise awareness of PFC's mission, which is to empower young people and children through education and sports along with raising funds to invest in life-changing projects all over the world, they partnered with Sportel earlier this year.

The convention will bring together about 600 people from around 300 sports organizations of 40 nations that includes leading sports journalist, leagues, federations, agencies and broadcasters.

Part of this new partnership, Sportel America will make a direct donation option available during the registration process online for those registering to attend or book a stand. They will be able to donate whatever sum they wish during this time.

The charity has achieved a few milestones, which included the 2013-14 PFC Internship program for young graduates in Vietnam and a two-year partnership with a children's home in Indonesia that officially launched YKPA Play for Change.

PFC will promise a new string of projects in the future like the 'Slam Dunk' that will be launched in January of this year. This new basketball program will be available for young girls in the toughest neighborhoods in London. Also, they will partner with the Belgium Pro League for the PFC school football tournament. The PFC has entered into a new partnership with ASLOD, which is a Milan-based local charity that helps cancer children through their rehabilitation.

"We are thrilled with this new partnership, as without doubt it will elevate our charity onto a truly global media platform. This will present us with a great opportunity to share our story, gain new members for our supporters club, and potentially to launch new projects with new partners," stated Philip Caputo, Executive Director of Play for Change.

He went on to add, "None of what we have achieved so far would have been possible without the invaluable support from our PFC club members, and I am delighted to give them a special shout-out - Infront Sports & Media, Fight Sports, EHF, ACB, WBSC, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Spotcal, SPFL, Lega Volleyball Italy, Belgium Pro League and of course MP & Silva."

He concluded, "It is with many thanks to Sportel that this association will further strengthen our international voice and commitment to helping children through sports and education."

General Manager of SPORTEL, Amparo Di Fede commented, "The partnership with PLAY FOR CHANGE is a clear indicator that SPORTEL conventions are of utmost importance to the international sports media industry. As one of the most influential business conventions in the world SPORTEL is honored to be able to help such an important charity that reaches out and changes the lives of thousands of children all over the world."
