(SFC) Yesterday, the Organizing Committee for the Rio 2016 Games exhibited their Ticket Program for the Olympic Games by launching a web portal with information on how the purchase process works and forms of payment.

First one has to register, which is done through the web page, www.rio2016.com/tickets. Once they have registered, participants will be able to receive content on the program and be alerted to key dates of the purchase process.

The Commercial Executive Director of the Rio 2016 Committee, Renato Ciuchini stated, "We will have a fair and transparent process, in line with the concept of 'Games for All', which is one of the pillars of Rio 2016."

The residents of Brazil will have the program divided up into four major steps. It starts by registering to receive information, which starts now. Beginning in March, applications for tickets can be made, which is when the draw phase commences. Remaining tickets will be placed online in October 2015 for a real time sale. To end, the box office will have tickets available during June 2016.

“Spectators will experience this journey like an athlete, preparing and going through stages until the glory of arriving at the Games," said Donovan Ferreti, Rio 2016 Ticketing Director.

Ferreti added, “With so many attractions, it is necessary to get organized early to ensure you don’t miss the best of the event.”

In addition, a separate process will take place for non-residents of Brazil. Other countries will have an authorized reseller of tickets, which must be appointed by the country's National Olympic Committee and Rio 2016. They will work together on the sale, promotion, and distribution of tickets within that given territory. In March 2015, the Rio 2016 will make the list of authorized resellers available on their website.

Those who are non-residents of Brazil are encouraged to sign up on the website as soon as possible, so they can receive the latest information on tickets. They can also receive alerts for key dates and contacts in the purchase process.

Non-residents of Brazil are equally encouraged to sign up on the website, starting today, to ensure that they receive the latest information about tickets, as well as alerts for the key dates and contacts in the purchase process.
