(SFC) Winners of the Olympic Golden Rings awards were announced by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). These awards are given for producing outstanding broadcast coverage of the Olympic Winter Games Sochi 2014.

The winners were selected by an international jury, which was headed by Member of the Coordination Commission for the Olympic Winter Games Sochi 2014, and IOC Member, Gian-Franco Kasper. The Monte-Carlo Sporting Club in Monaco hosted the awards ceremony.

There were six categories in which gold, silver, and bronze trophies were awarded. The categories included: Best Digital Offering, Best Olympic Feature, Best Olympic Sports Production by Olympic Broadcasting Services, Best On-Air Promotion, Best Athlete Profile, and Best Olympic Program. In addition, the Olympic Video Player was a special award.

Both IOC President Thomas Bach, and HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, along with 500 guests, attended the ceremony. Those also in attendance were members of the Council of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), the International Sports Federations, IOC members, and representatives from the rights-holding broadcasters. Olympic champions Yang Yang, and Jonathan Edwards, presented the trophies.

The Best Digital Offering, Best Olympic Program, and Best Olympic Feature gold award went to NBC. The Best On-Air promotion category was won by BBC, and the Best Athlete Profile category was awarded to ARD.

This prestigious international contest, is a way for the IOC to recognize and promote excellence in television broadcasting of the Olympic Games, since it was created in 1976. Contest awards are given every two years, on the occasion of the Olympic Winter Games and Olympic Games.
