Partnership extension for NIKE, Inc. and U.S. Olympic Committee through 2020

(SFC) It was announced today, that NIKE, INC will be extending their sponsorship of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) through 2020. The new sponsorship agreement will have NIKE provide footwear and apparel for the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes along with the uniforms, which will be worn on the award podium. The medal stand uniform will also be worn during the medal ceremonies at the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winters Games, in PyeongChang, and the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, in Tokyo. Per their previous contract, NIKE will be outfitting Team USA at the 2016 Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The NIKE Vice President of Marketing for North America, David Schriber stated, “NIKE has been a proud partner of the U.S. Olympic Committee since 2005 and we are excited to extend our support of Olympic and Paralympic athletes through 2020.”

He added, “Nike’s mission is to provide inspiration and innovation to every athlete, and this is another opportunity to show our continued support of Team USA athletes and the U.S. Olympic Committee.”

In addition, the 2016, 2018, and 2020 U.S. Youth Olympic Teams will be provided award uniforms by NIKE along with the 2015 and 2019 U.S. Pan America and Parapan American Teams. With NIKE, Inc. being an USOC sponsor they hold the categories of footwear, apparel, and headwear.

The USOC Chief Marketing Officer, Lisa Baird said, “We are proud to extend our partnership with Nike through 2020, a company that has helped advance sport at a global level.”

She commented saying, "Nike innovations have long been instrumental for many Team USA athletes as they perform at the Olympic or Paralympic Games, and we are inspired by the memorable looks and styles Nike has created for Team USA athletes during the Games and on the medal stand."
