(SFC) After a record-breaking year for exports, leading sports communication agency JTA formally received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade 2014.

JTA was awarded a Grant of Appointment and a commemorative crystal bowl at JTA”s head office in Kent Thursday by Her Majesty The Queen’s Kent representative, the Lord Lieutenant of Kent, Vicount De L’Isle MBE. Only one other U.K.-based public relations firm has received a Queen’s Award this year.

JTA received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade 21 April, Her Majesty The Queen’s 88th birthday. Her Majesty The Queen and HRH Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh met JTA representatives at Buckingham Palace two months later in July.

With some specialty in the Olympic Movement, JTA reported an increase in exports as a percentage of turnover in a three-year span from 47 percent to 68 percent and rapid growth in the emerging markets of Russia, Turkey, South Korea, Taiwan, and Central Asia.

“Winning a Queen’s Award is the highest honour that can be bestowed on a U.K. company and testament to our hard work and growth in emerging global markets,” JTA Founder and Chairman Jon Tibbs said at the ceremony. “We envisage continued growth in our existing markets and we have already identified new markets in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the middle East that show a great deal of promise for 2015 and beyond.

“These are exciting times to be a British communications agency working in international sport.”
