(SFC) President Yang Ho Cho and top level officials from the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) updated the OCA (Olympic Council of Asia) General Assembly on the progress of the preparations and upcoming future plans.

The OCA general assembly is taking place at Songdo Convensia in Incheon the day after the organization’s continental event, the Asian Games, opened Friday September 19th.

President Cho met with OCA delegates as well and expressed his hope for a strong participation from Asia at the PyeongChang 2018 Games. The “New Horizons” vision and mission of the Games is to become the top winter sports hub in Asia.

This week as well, POCOG, has carried out meetings with International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach, head of the IOC Coordination Commission and Executive Board member, Gunilla Lindberg, and Christophe Dubi, the new Games Executive Director.

The PyeongChang Winter Games will take place February 9-25 in less than four years’ time bringing the Olympics back to Korea thirty years later after the Seoul 1988 summer edition.
