Rio 2016 unveils ticket prices for the Summer Games

(SFC) In an attempt to create an affordable pricing structure, the Rio 2016 Organising Committee has priced more than 3.8 million tickets for the upcoming Summer Olympic Games at less than USD $30 or less.

In total, around 7.5 million tickets encompassing 717 events in 28 sports and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be sold. Instructions for the purchasing of tickets and the Rio 2016 Olympic Games competition schedule will be released in November, as will the full Ticket Sales Programme.

Fans will be get the chance to register their interest in tickets for certain sports before the Ticket Sales Programme is unveiled. Rio 2016 will then provide news and information around the sports in which fans are interested by personalised communications.

The Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games is currently scheduled to begin with the Opening Ceremony at the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro 5 Aug. 2016.
