(SFC) With PyeongChang growing as a precursor to the 2018 Winter Olympic Games, Korean specialty chain – Tom N Toms Coffee – will open a coffee theme park in Chuncheon, also in the Gangwon Province.

Tom N Toms Coffee currently runs 400 branches in Korea and 27 international stores. Gangwon Governor Choi Moon-soon and Chuncheon Mayor Choi Don-yong signed an agreement to construct an environmentally-friendly theme park and resort before 2017. The construction cost is reported to total more than 100 billion  won, or USD $98.7 million.

Choi said, "The Coffee Theme Park, the largest one in Korea, is expected to become a new tourist destination, linked with Chuncheon Legoland and Nami Island Park, and attract more than 2 million domestic and foreign visitors a year.

"The effect to the region is expected to be huge ranging from vitalizing local economy to job creation and population growth."

A paper manufacturer, a medical appliance maker, and a jewelry processing plant also plan to move into the Eastern Chuncheon industrial complex, which is less expensive than Seoul.

The government is in favour of providing incentives to companies moving to PyeongChang 2018’s province.
