(SFC) The International Olympic Committee’s Executive Board finished its three-day meetings Wednesday with updates on the 14 Working Groups’ recommendations for Olympic Agenda 2020.

The Working Groups discussed the thousands of recommendations received by the Olympic Movement, the world of sport, and individual members of the public last month and will convene again 19 July at the Olympic Summit.

“The Olympic Agenda 2020 is about changing some major issues on the Olympic Movement,” IOC President Thomas Bach said at a press conference Wednesday. “Many ideas and many, many projects are being discussed right now. I’m sure that if this is getting approved it will not fail to have an effect on future organisers and potential leaders for the Olympic Games.”

Key Olympic Movement stakeholders will be presented a report based on the Working Groups’ findings at the Olympic Summit before organising recommendations for the Executive Board meeting in October. The recommendations will then be presented to the International Olympic Committee membership at the Extraordinary IOC Session in Monaco 8-9 Dec.

“Everybody’s looking to make a contribution and propose solutions,” Bach said. “This creates a positive atmosphere for change. I hope we can take this momentum into December then also the vote in December will reflect this momentum of change for the Olympic Movement.”
