(SFC) The members of the 14 Working Groups for the Olympic Agenda 2020 – including International Olympic Committee members, athletes, representatives of the International Federations and National Olympic Committees, and representatives of leading international organisations, NGOs, and business organisations – was released Thursday by International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach.

The Working Groups will decide which proposals made by the Olympic Movement, the sport world, and members of the public at large will be considered for the Olympic Agenda 2020 ranging from the topics of ethics and the Youth Olympic Games, good governance and autonomy, and the Olympic TV Channel.

The Working Groups will meet around Olympic Day in June and present to the IOC Executive Board a month later, after which the key stakeholders of the Olympic Movement will then discuss the findings at the Olympic Summit.

The IOC commissions will hear of the decisions in September, then the Executive Board will go over the proposals once again in October. At the IOC Extraordinary Session in Monaco 8-9 Dec., the entire IOC membership will debate the proposals.

A total of 211 interventions made by IOC members at the 126th IOC Session in Sochi, Russia, covered the five themes of the uniqueness of the Olympic Games, athletes at the heart of the Olympic Movement, Olympism in action, the IOC’s role, and IOC structure and organisation.

Proposals for the Olympic Agenda 2020 were received by the International Olympic Committee’s email account from National Olympic Committees, International Federations, sports organisations, NGOs, and the general public.
