Teams are checking in at Sochi getting ready to start the Games

(SFC) Olympic teams from around the world have arrived in Sochi for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games, with the first celebratory ceremonies having begun Sunday, 2 Feb. The ceremonies will end 6 Feb., by which time all teams will have arrived.
New Zealand, Mongolia, Japan, Belgium and the Philippines’ teams were the first to be celebrated. The ceremonies begin with the raising of the national flags of each country featuring key members of the National Olympic Committees. The mayors and deputy mayors of each Olympic Village will also be in attendance for the greeting ceremony with cultural entertainment programmes and a performance by Dominik Joker and finalists from the reality talent show Clash of the Choirs.
Television presenter Alexandr Anatolievich will headline the ceremony, while Coastal Cluster Olympic Village Mayor Elena Isinbaeva and Mountain Cluster Olympic Village Mayor Svetlana Zhurova and Deputy Mayor Alexei Nemov will greet athletes and guests at the celebration.
More than 130 athletes, coaches and official figures of the Russian delegation will be greeted in Sochi 5 Feb.
