(SFC) Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin visited Sochi 2014 volunteers Friday at Olympic Park, where he told them to “stock up with humour, patience, professionalism, and perseverance.”

“We very much hope that you, the volunteers, will create the unique atmosphere for the Games,” Putin said. “It is on your ability to create this atmosphere that the mood of the oLympic guests and competitors will depend on. And this is one of the most important things in the Olympic program.

“Sports competitions are a celebration. Competitions are always associated with emotions and anxiety. You have to realise this and have a sense of humour to balance the sportsmen’s emotions so that the competitors have only positive emotions.”

“I serve as an interpreter in the Main Media Centre,” Canadian Sochi 2014 volunteer Julien Gagnon said. “It is my first time in Russia and I’m very proud to work at the Olympic Games in Sochi.”

“The most enjoyable thing about being here is interacting with different people,” Russian Sochi 2014 volunteer Andrey Maykapar said. “It’s such a pleasure dealing with people from so many different countries and different backgrounds.
