(SFC) International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach and French President Francois Hollande discussed the upcoming Sochi Olympic Winter Games in Paris and the expectations of French athletes Saturday.

The pair also talked of France’s commitment to the anti-doping cause and illegal betting in sport, two of sport’s largest troubles in recent times. Hollande mentioned the interest for a potential Olympic bid for 2024.

Paris lost to London for the 2012 Games but ran an impressive campaign and could be a strong contender in the Summer Games race.

Also on the table was the upcoming inaugural International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, organised by the International Olympic Committee and the United Nations 6 April.

French IOC members Guy Drut and Tony Estanguet and IOC Director General Christophe De Kepper were in attendance at Palais de l’Elysee.

Bach met with International Organisation of La Francophonie Secretary General Abdou Diuouf Friday to discuss the possible cooperation for the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace.

Bach also attended the Centennial Gala Dinner of the International Fencing Federation at the Grand Palais.
