(SFC) Roppongi Art Night 2014 will run nonstop from 10 AM Saturday, 19 April, through 6 PM Sunday, 20 April, 2014, in Tokyo, the Roppongi Art Night Executive Committee announced.
The gala all-night festival presenting a diverse array of art exhibits and performances in the Roppongi entertainment district attracted 830,000 visitors in 2013 and will celebrate its sixth year in 2014. It is being organised by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, The National Art Centre, Tokyo, Suntory Museum of Art, Tokyo Midtown, 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT, Mori Art Museum, MORI Building Co., Ltd., and Roppongi Streets Shopping Association.
Stores, restaurants, parks, and streets will all be home to art exhibitions and theatrical and musical performances, with the likes of decorated floats and culinary art served at food stands a staple of the annual all-night festival.
The Roppongi Art Night will contribute to the area’s ongoing evolution through art. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture will also organise “Under the Event” as part of the Tokyo Culture Creation Project. Katsuhiko Hibino will once again serve as artistic director of Roppongi Art Night as he did in 2013.
