New Tourist Police unit launched in Seoul for visitors

(SFC) The “tourist police” unit has been launched in Seoul to provide tourists with more convenience, the Korea Tourism Organisation said.

The police officers will patrol major tourist areas in Seoul like Myeong-dong, Insa-dong, Itaewon Tourist Special Zone and Hongdae and offer assistance in English, Japanese and Chinese. The officers will also help to crack down on overcharging merchants and taxi drivers ensuring visitors a better visit to the city.

Seoul will be a major hub and attraction in a little over four years at Games time when PyeongChang will host the 2018 Winter Olympics.
