Bach appoints media expert Jochen Farber as Head of Executive Office

(SFC) International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach appointed German communications expert Jochen Farber as head of his Executive Office.

Farber, 46, comes from a long background in communications and management with the German Fencing Federation and was also in charge of media for the Munich 2018 Winter Olympic Bid. He speaks German, English and French and founded and has run his own PR and communications agency for over ten years.

He will leave his post as Managing Director of the Olympic Training center for fencing in Germany, where he was also in charge of marketing, to take up his new post December 1st in Lausanne at the IOC.
