(SFC) Thousands of people across Russia will have the opportunity to cheer on their favourite athletes at the Olympic Winter Games at numerous Sochi 2014 Live Sites. The Sochi 2014 Organising Committee announced more than 15 cities, including Sochi, Moscow, Tekaterinburg, Omsk, Krasnoyarsk, Voronezh, Krasnodar, Tyumen, Tamboc and Khanty-Mansiysk, where Live Sites will be located.

Games broadcasts, music, entertainment, sports, performance by athletes and urban creative groups, and educational programmes for children and students will be among the activities available at the Live Sites. The project was created to allow fans from across the country to access the Games “live” in a celebratory atmosphere without having to attend the individual events.

Live Sites in Sochi will be near the Seaport and the Medals Plaza in the Olympic Park, the site of award ceremonies, as well as the city centre, Adler, Dagomys, Lazarevskoye, and the main square at Rosa Khutor.

Musical groups from around the world will perform at the Medals Plaza from 7-22 Feb.

Sochi 2014 Live Sites project technical partner Rostelecom will provide the signal from the site of the Olympic Winter Games to the Live Sites and create content for the Games specific to Russian popular sports and Russian athlete participants.
