Tokyo 2020 delegation thanks Prime Minister Abe for governmental support

(SFC) Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was visited by a delegation from the Tokyo 2020 Bid Committee Tuesday to show thanks for the government’s support of the city’s successful bid to host the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games.
The International Olympic Committee awarded the rights to host the Games to Tokyo at the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires 7 September instead of Istanbul and Madrid. Prime Minister Abe was on hand to speak about sport bringing people together and his government’s commitment to ensuring a “safe and enjoyable Games.”
The Tokyo 2020 delegation included Japanese Olympic Committee and Tokyo 2020 President Tsunekazu Takeda, Tokyo 2020 Chief Executive Officer Masato Mizuno, Olympic silver medallist Yuki Ota and long-jump Paralympian Mami Sato.
