(SFC) Georges Yerolimpos was appointed Executive Director of all SportAccord Multi-Sports Games and Sergey Soloveychik was appointed SportAccord Chairman of the 2013 World Combat Games Tuesday by newly-elected SportAccord President Marius Vizer in hopes of developing the management team and strengthening the support to the Multi-Sports Games unit.

The SportAccord Multi-Sports Games include the World Combat Games, World Mind Games, World Beach Games, World Urban Games and World Artistic Games. Yerolimpos currently serves as the World Karate Federation Executive Committee General Secretary and has previously held the positions of Martial Arts Games Beijing 2010 Vice Chairman, Athens 2004 Olympic Games Advisor and Mediterranean Games Executive Director. He is also a member of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and European Karate Federation Secretary General. Yerolimpos was a member of the National Karate Team from 1984 to 1989 and is a former Greek and European Karate Champion.

The 2013 World Combat Games will be held in Saint Petersburg, Russia, from 18-26 October. Soloveychik, a graduate of Lomonosov Moscow State University, was the Moscow Judo Federation President from 1998 to 2000 and was elected European Judo Union President and International Judo Federation Vice President in 2007.

“Both gentlemen will be an asset for our organisation and will help bring it to new dimensions,” Vizer said.
