(SFC) The Tokyo 2020 bid team delivered their targeted presentation to the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) with a special target on the athletes and special guarantees for the countries’ organizations.

“Tokyo 2020 guarantees the very best services for all NOCs and their athletes,” explained Masato Mizuno, ceo of the bid. “Our first-class plans include a dedicated transport service for athletes and team officials, world-class medical treatment facilities in the Olympic Village, an unmatched number of hotel rooms close to venues and many highly attractive options for hosting NOC houses in stunning locations.”

The Association of the National Olympic Committees (ANOC) is holding their key annual event in Lausanne at the Olympic capital and the meeting comes at a key time for the campaigns of the three cities bidding for the 2020 summer Games. Approximately 800 delegates are in attendance representing one of the key pillars of the Olympic Movement.

IOC Member and President of the bid and the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC), Tsunekazu Takeda, noted,  “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to present our Games vision and plan to our NOC friends during ANOC.  It is another major milestone as we continue to build momentum to the final vote at the IOC Session in Buenos Aires.

"We are passionate about extending our strong relationships with the NOCs, supporting the excellent work they do to promote sport around the world and partnering to deliver our vision to promote the Olympic Values to the new generation of over one billion young people in Asia and far beyond.

"Today, Tokyo 2020 offers the certainty of delivery. The 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in the heart of Tokyo will have a spirit of celebration and passion that will be unforgettable for athletes and fans across the world."

"Japan has a unmatched passion for sport and the thought of the world’s greatest athletes competing in Tokyo is truly inspiring,” said Olympian Rie Tanaka, one of Japan’s most popular and accomplished female gymnasts.

The guarantees that Tokyo proposes include:

- Hosting an incredible city-centre celebration with the Games in the very heart of the one of the world’s most safe and secure cities

- Ensuring all athletes have the opportunity to perform to their very best, locating the relaxed environment of the Olympic Village within only eight kilometres of 85% of Olympic venues

- Employing innovative ticketing technology to ensure stadiums full of passionate fans.

"I know hosting the Games in the heart of the city will provide an extremely safe and exciting environment for my fellow athletes, with the Games Plan and Olympic Village design ensuring they are empowered to compete at their very best."

The full Tokyo team included Tsunekazu Takeda; Tokyo 2020 CEO and JOC Vice President, Masato Mizuno; House of Councillors Member, Japan’s Minister in charge of Sports and WADA Executive Committee member, Teru Fukui; Tokyo 2020 International Relations Director, Yukiko Arai, and London 2012 Games Gymnastics Olympian, Rie Tanaka.
