(SFC) National Olympic Committees can now bid for the XXIV Olympic Winter Games in 2022 and the 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games in 2020, the International Olympic Committee announced today.

The candidature acceptance procedure and the candidature procedure phases for the bidding process of the 2022 Olympic Winter Games will conclude with the election of the host city at the 127th IOC Session in Kuala Lampur 31 July 2015. One city per NOC can apply by the 14 November 2013 deadline.

The International Olympic Committee will thoroughly review each potential host city’s potential to host the Games during Phase I – the candidature acceptance procedure – by sending a questionnaire to each city. The Executive Board will then decide which cities will advance to Phase II as Candidate Cities.

During Phase II, Candidate Cities will put together a Candidature File with details of their Olympic projects and will be visited by the IOC Evaluation Commission, which will then assess each city and publish a report for the Candidate City Briefing to IOC members.
