PyeongChang 2018 prepares to launch the new official Winter Games logo

(SFC)  The PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) is poised to unveil the brand new look of the winter Games this Friday as IOC Executive Board member and coordination commission chair Gunilla Lindberg arrives  in the Korean Capital.

The unveiling is set to take place this Friday May 3rd at the Yeakdang Hall in the National Gugak Center in Seoul as well with a simultaneous official ceremony taking place in host city PyeongChang at the Alpensia Music Tent in the area that will be the heartbeat of the Games.

Lindberg will be joined by POCOG President Jin-sun Kim, Jinryong Yoo, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Governor of Gangwon Province, Moon-soon Choi, the newly elected head of the Korean Olympic Committee, Jung-haeng Kim, and as athlete representative, Sang-hwa Lee, Olympic gold medalist, Speed Skating.

Around 2000 people are expected at the openings and the official emblem will also be launched online via Ustream ( from 15:00 KST, Friday, May 3, 2013.

Sponsorship Briefing

Following the official launch POCOG’s marketing department will invite 300 representatives from local businesses in Korea to explain its Olympic sponsorship program in order to fill them in to get on board to support the first Korean winter Games.
