March 24 - The International Olympic Committee (IOC) met with Galatasaray striker Didier Drogba to hear his testimony about hosting the summer Games in Istanbul. The Evaluation Commission was on a venue tour to Seyrantepe Stadium where the Super League Galatasaray sports club plays on the European side of the city.
Also during the bid tour today the IOC as well as the press were treated to a ride on the new subway system that will access the Olympic Stadium and the Olympic Park area. The zone near the stadium has already been allocated to the Turkish Olympic Committee and will be developed as such regardless of how the IOC votes on the bid.
Sir Craig Reedie, in charge of the IOC commission, also had the chance with Hasan Arat, leader of the Istanbul bid, to sit in the driver's car of the subway train.
