March 24 - The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Evaluation Commission led by Sir Craig Reedie was treated to a cocktail reception on the banks of the Bosphorus to kick off the week.

The commission will carry out their four day perusal of the third bid city for the 2020 summer Olympics.

The last time the IOC was in the city for an evaluation tour was 2001 for the 2008 election that went to Beijing, China.

The city and the bid profile has changed a lot since those days and it will be the bid team's job to get that message across to the voting assembly. IOC members are not allowed to visit bid cities.

Istanbul is bidding against Madrid and Tokyo to host the Games. The IOC will vote their final city on September 7, 2013 at the session in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
