March 18 - The Madrid 2020 bid team got started with their formal greetings last night with two receptions to welcome the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Evaluation Commission and the media.

Spanish Prince Felipe was on hand to meet the IOC and show his support for the 2020 summer Games bid. The top leaders of the Madrid bid team were out in full force as well with their IOC members, Juan Antonio Samaranch, Marisol Casado, and Jose Perurena. Honorary member the Infanta Dona Pilar de Borbon, who served as the head of  the equestrian federation also attended and the members will be in and out this week.

The Madrid mayor, Ana Botella, together with bid chief, Alejandro Blanco, hosted a reception to welcome the media. Many members of the local tourism entities were there to greet the press as well and answer questions about the city.
