ADAMAS to produce Sochi 2014 medals

March 14 –ADAMAS has been commissioned to produce the medals for the XXII Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014. The Russian jewellery company has been named Official supplier to the Games in the category “Jewellery, Precious metals, Gems and Medals.” Dmitry Chernyshenko, president of the Sochi 214 Organising Committee, and Andrei Sidorenko, chairman of the Board of Directors of ADAMAS, signed the deal that will see ADAMAS manufacture and supply around 1300 official Olympic and Paralympic gold, silver and bronze medals, a record number produced for a Winter Olympic Games. Medal designs will be revealed in May.

“We are extremely proud of the fact that the medals which will pass through the hands of our company’s master jewellers are going to be the symbol of victory at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi in 2014,” Sidorenko said. “Russia’s gold has long enjoyed worldwide renown, as has the history of Russian sport.”

ADAMAS will be able to use the titles of “Official supplier to the Sochi 2014 Games” and “Official supplier to the Russian Olympic Committee.” ADAMAS will also be able to use the marks of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and the Russian Olympic Committee.

“The Olympic medals are the most famous sporting trophies in the world and every athlete will be dreaming of and fighting to earn on at the Games in Sochi,” Chernyshenko said. “I am certain that the Olympic and Paralympic medals produced by the most experienced craftsmen at ADAMAS will not only be a symbol of victory, but a real decoration for the 2014 Games in Sochi.”
