December 4 - Speaking up during the Host Cities Summit taking place in Dubai a senior official of the NOC has confirmed to the press that their "bidding has already started" though they are waiting for government support.

The National news source caught up with Abdulrahman Falaknaz, who is the finance director of the NOC and he mentioned that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) "has the infrastructure, capability and the know how to host such events".

This may come as a surprise to Doha who has already thrown their hat in the ring a number of times and intends to rebid for 2014.

They are likely to go up against Rome, Paris, Berlin, and Los Angeles and given that the Middle East has never hosted the Games it would seem that the region would make a single choice of a city to go forward.
