November 21 – The Sochi 2014 organizers were busy in Rio during the London 2012 debrief taking notes on what they could incorporate into their Games’ plan.

“The debriefing was an excellent opportunity to learn directly from London 2012 about how to deliver a brilliant Games that is enjoyed and remembered fondly by everyone involved,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko, Sochi 2014 President and CEO.

“Our own London 2012 observer program has already been hugely beneficial to my team, with over 200 Sochi 2014 staff and 100 volunteers gaining first first-hand experience of taking part in an Olympic Games.

“It has been an invaluable experience and will play a key role in helping us to deliver an inspiration Games in just over a year’s time.”

The London organizers were sharing their experiences during the seven year lead up to the Games then actual hosting information. Some of the topics that were touched on were planning, operational and technical elements of organising an Olympic Games, such as sport, accommodation, transport, culture, education and logistics.

To compliment this there were also sessions led by people who had had a direct end-user experience of Games, with participants including the athletes, spectators, workforce and the media.
