October 2 - Performance artists from around the world are being sought by the Sochi Cultural Olympiad for the 2014 Winter games in Sochi, Russia.

The Cultural Olympiad is staging a unique contest for individuals and performance teams. Acceptable genres range from modern stage singing and dancing to pantomime and acrobatics. Any artist or group from any of the countries participating at the 2014 games is welcome to apply.

Finalists will be asked to participate in the Sochi 2014 Cultural Olympiad where they will be a major part of the event. The artists will perform in front of global audiences at the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Games. 

A complete list of acceptable performances is: 

• All musical genres including: pop songs, romance, ballad, folk songs, jazz

• Stage dancing including: folk, ball dancing, ballet, modern

• Stage theater, including: spoken genre, a scene, sketch, story, monologue, pantomime, parody

• Physical performances including: acrobatics, gymnastics, balancing acts, clown show, juggling, athletics, magic tricks, costumes and others.
